Take a DrumRide

with Bob Bloom

Friday, October 20, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.

This hands-on, interactive drumming event features the music of DrumRide, Connecticut’s only drum circle band. Your drumming will be accompanied by Jack Collins on bass, Mike Bloomer and Jim Romanow on guitars, and Bob Bloom on his SpiceRack, playing some of the classic sounds of the 60s. Bring your own hand drums—or play some of the drums Bob will provide. DrumRide’s performance is a celebration of the joys of making music.  In addition, a drumming masterclass will take place on Sunday, October 22, at 2:30 p.m.

Music Alive! has as its mission to offer first-rate musical performances to the greater Worcester community. Building on the success of our past—and inspired by a tradition of musical excellence—our goal is to offer Wesley United Methodist Church as one of Worcester’s premier concert venues. The architectural and acoustical beauty of Wesley’s sanctuary provides a magnificent setting for musical performances.  Our promise for this and for future years is to present a diverse program of musical genres that will appeal to a wide audience.  A regular feature of Music Alive! is nine monthly half-hour Pipes Alive concerts, featuring master organists from the greater Worcester area on Wesley’s 73-rank, 1927 E. M. Skinner pipe organ.  Artist fees and administrative costs are raised by free-will offerings at concerts, individual and corporate donations, and program advertisements, thus making it possible for us to offer the series at no cost to concert-goers.

Donations are needed to keep Music Alive at Wesley Church!

Please email Scott Lamlein for more information.
